Faith or Fear
FEAR: It is so easy in today's society and world to be consumed by fear! We have fear over our jobs, our house, our family life and living in general. You can turn on any News program and listen to everything and anything bad, negative and fear based. It becomes easy to let fear run your life and dictate to you how to live.
Have you ever noticed how those who are glued to the TV, Newspaper, News Programs, weekly shows, talk shows etc. focus on problems, negativity and all the things in their life that is not going right? If you listen to and watch enough negative reinforcements you soon will only be able to see life that way.
When you live in fear you can't live in life. Life has it's challenges and ups and downs but you don't have to hang on to it. You have a choice to either see things as "my life is never good" or you can say to yourself "minor setback, tomorrow will be better". How do I know? I have lived it many times and it has taken me a long time to realize that a situation is only as bad as I choose to make it. If I focus only on the things that do not go right sooner or later I would begin to tell myself "why bother, it won't work anyway". There comes a time when you have to shake that and tell yourself that things can work out.
Recently I have had to face a fear, release it to God and pray everyday to help me. My youngest son who just turned 18 in June told his Dad and I that he was thinking of joining the Army!!! Wow one of my fears had now consumed me with overwhelming emotion and panic at "what could happen if he joined" and somehow my mind began to play out different outcomes. I would tell myself to stop just stop!!! I know that he is 18 and does not need my permission to do anything even join the Military. I am in a battle with my mind and emotions, praying for God to give me strength and peace and to be with my son no matter what he decides to do. For me I would rather my son join with my support and love than to have him join thinking his mom is mad at him and possibly doesn't care. He has not made a decision as of yet and wants to weigh all options, I know that God will help guide him. My prayers are that God will keep him in the palm of his mighty loving hand with every step he takes.
I remind myself of Mary the mother of Jesus, she carried Jesus for 9 months, gave birth and held that little bundle of joy in her arms. She raised him knowing all along he belonged to God. We may carry give birth and raise our sons and daughters but their life does not belong to us! Their life belongs to God, he has a purpose for them while here on this earth, a reason for being. The strength of Mary should reassure us and help strengthen us as Mary knew all to well how hard it was to "Let Go and Let God". This was a woman who knew the outcome, watched her son be persecuted, tormented and despised by many but she held on to God's Promise of "For God so loved the world that he gave HIS only begotten son". We need to believe that as we raised our children, although they may not show it, that we instilled faith in God, the right morales that they will recall and rely on as they walk in life fulfilling the purpose of their being. We are all here for a reason and if we learn to listen to the "Still Small Voice" of God inside each and every one of us we will hear and know what our purpose is. It will tug on us in our heart and mind until we do what it is we are meant to do.
Definition of Faith:
In the New Testament, the word faith is derived from the Greek word πίστις (pistis) or from the verb πιστεύω (pisteuo), meaning "to trust, to have confidence, faithfulness, to be reliable, to assure".
Faith is the confident belief or trust in the truth or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing.
When you go to a Doctor you have Faith in his abilities right? When you get in your car to go to work you have Faith or belief that you will make it to work. So why is it then when something bad or when minor misfortune strikes do you not have Faith? I would ask you to look back on your life and seek those times when things look dim yet worked out for the better. Did that not make you feel like you could face anything? I too have been in a time of financial/life needs and did not know what I was going to do to pay the bills or get by. I have learned that if I have Faith that everything will be okay and know that for every problem there is a solution things worked out. Let me ask you how many if any times have you been in need? Perhaps you checked the mail and there was a refund you did not expect? Opened your paycheck to find you were given a raise? We need to appreciate and be grateful for all the little things and times no matter how small something worked out.
For me I have learned to lean on and trust God for he knows what our needs are. God has always provided for my family. If a job does not work out trust that there is a better one around the corner, keep your Faith and believe in life. Don't let fear rob you of living and believing in the endless possibilities that are out there. Live in life and open your mind and eyes to see the good in your life and the opportunities presented to you. Be grateful for everyday you are given and give thanks for every breath you take.
May God Bless You,
Cindy

Microwave Attitude?
Do You Have A Microwave Attitude?
You might ask "What is a Microwave Attitude?" Well like the food we eat today and so many areas of our lives we expect instant results. We have become such a fast paced society that we don't take time for the basics of things. When was the last time you baked dinner from scratch, worked in the garden or actually took out a piece of paper and wrote a letter to a friend, relative, spouse? Our lives have been changed to the "compose", "Spell check" and "send" button on the computer. We can even create a message and schedule when we want it sent or distributed.
So many people think that if they don't achieve a goal or life's purpose in an instant that A.) It is never going to happen B.) Someone does not like you C.) Your not good enough D.) Your just not that lucky. The list goes on and on and on and I am sure you all have your own "Why it's not happening" saying or lines. You need to remember you weren't born in an instant --- it did take 9 months, learning to walk took even longer huh over a year and a half. You did not learn your job in the first grade -- no for most it did take 12 years of school and 4 years of college maybe even more. So what makes us think we should have success in an instant? Think about it, you worked hard for 12 years so you could walk down that isle for that piece of paper, move the tassel and throw the cap, take a deep sigh of relief that it is now behind you all the while beaming inside at your accomplishment as you should!!! You Worked at it for 12 years!!!!!
I don't believe you can just sit on your couch and vision a new car in your driveway and suddenly in a month it is there. I do believe that if you focus on the (GOAL) of having that new car, you automatically begin to do what you need to do financially and otherwise to buy the car you want. We all have to work at and for something, if you want great relationships you have to work at it. Same goes for anything in your life!
You need to get clear on what it is in your life that is important to you, set a goal, see it and have a belief and knowing that you will be able to achieve it. I love the saying "Everything is possible and everything possible is achievable" as long as you are willing to be dedicated and work for it. Most people when they are handed something in life don't appreciate it as much as the person who worked hard for what they have. When you see your dream come true that you have put your life into it makes you feel great, you have accomplished (worked) your goal, dream or vision.
We are never too old to have dreams or goals in life. That is what keeps us going and I don't believe you are ever too old to start something new. It does not matter how old you are in life what matters is where is your mind set? If you think you are too old or too young you have defeated yourself before you have ever started. No matter where you are in life know that you can achieve your dreams, you just have to get off your behind and take action. So what are you waiting for ----- it is time to start living again!!
Blessings,
Cindy

If Affirmations are Wonderful - Why don't they work for some?
Have you ever found yourself thinking "Yeah, I've tried affirmations and they just did not work for me" or "I don't feel comfortable saying those affirmations everyday and anyway I forget"? We have all at one time or another tried different affirmations that some guru, positive thinker or friend told us about. We repeated these for a few days and then dismissed them. You continue your daily life the way you always have and just hope for things to get better right?
There is a secret to affirmations and it lies within you!!! Yes You!! It is just like trying to read a book you are not interested in perhaps because someone told you it was a good book. You can read a paragraph and put the book down and not remember what you just read right? For most people if there is not an interest in the words being read, a desire to move forward either in life or knowledge, your subconscious mind will tune out and it will go back to what is familiar- the way it has always been!! It's that simple.
It is my intention to Coach you and teach you how to overcome the "tune out" problems. There are techniques to saying an affirmation, setting an intention, changing the subconscious view of things and living from gratitude. You can change your subconscious thought pattern, you can stop it from always bringing up the negative or reminding you of times things did not work the way you hoped. It is in our subconscious mind where everything in our lives has been stored - like the hard drive on a computer. This also means everything from childhood we have been told, have learned and continue to repeat in our lives today good and bad. The problem is that if our thinking is not "moving us" forward with positive actions it is holding us back by remembering those negative thoughts and actions. Positive actions are actions that move you towards something, it may be as simple as cleaning out a drawer. Instead of hearing your subconscious mind say "Why bother", which is a do nothing action, you can change that to a more powerful statement with an "I Can".
Remember that failure only comes from not trying and not trying comes from fear of failure. Fear creates an endless cycle of defeat and self destruction. If you try you don't fail you learn what did not work and what you need to do to change it so it does work. It is only by trying that we learn to succeed, grow stronger and become more confident to move forward. When plans do not work the way you hoped don't let the negative thoughts take over and prevent you from trying again. Instead see it as a learning adventure and begin to work on areas that need to be changed and try again. Be consistent in your efforts and believe me they will pay off for you.
Blessings,
Cindy
